There is a distinctive "with turtle" print on the cups/glasses to indicate that the product contains plastic (you can see it in the picture with the packaging) - this is how the European Union has classified the PLA material with which these cups/glasses are lined. This has to do with the coming into force of the Plastics Directive (July 1, 2021.).
However, PLA (cornmeal-based plastic) is a naturally derived material and is 100% compostable and environmentally safe.
