Catering in EKO style. 5 simple solutions.

Customers' environmental awareness is increasing. Consumers are paying special attention to the quality of products and the form of serving. Frugal solutions, such as the use of plastic dishes or cutlery, often translate into negative feedback from guests. On the other hand, the choice of ecological crockery, shows concern for our environment and indicates a high level of running a restaurant, cafe or pub. Most entrepreneurs in the catering industry are stuck in the belief that eco-friendly cookware is expensive and hard to find. Nothing could be further from the truth! Let's dispel this myth in the Slow version!
1. Organic cutlery
Organic cutlery is the foundation of gastronomy. On the market there are wooden cutlery, bamboo cutlery or PLA cutlery with bran added. Our favorite is hermetically sealed wooden cutlery, complete with napkin. They are suitable for all meals, both cold and hot. They can withstand a temperature range from -20°C to 85°C. The product is made entirely of wood, so it will decompose even in a home composter. They are perfect for the current Covid-19 situation in Poland, as they meet the requirements of the sanepid.
2. Eco straws - "Here you drink without a straw"
Are you familiar with the high-profile action "Here you drink without a straw," initiated by activist Areta Szpura? The action is aimed at phasing out plastic tubes from pubs and restaurants across Poland, as well as popularizing the "less waste" principle. There is even a map of establishments that have given up plastic straws or replaced them with eco-friendly straws made of straw, paper or metal. You can join the campaign at any time and thus promote your business! Don't delay your decision! Our favorite are straws made of bamboo or straw straws. Eco-friendly straws do not contain any chemicals, look good, do not dissolve or soften, and are suitable for cold as well as hot drinks. In addition, they require no further recycling and are 100% biodegradable!
3. Eco-friendly disposable dishes
A wide range of eco-friendly disposable dishes, allows you to simply and easily choose biodegradable plates, perfectly suited to the profile of catering. With us you can find plates made of sugarcane, plates made of wheat bran, and even plates made of plant residues! At the moment, the latter are the most popular, because in addition to their refined design, they are very stable and can withstand a wide range of temperatures, from 15°C to 220°C. They can also be composted even in backyard conditions. Also noteworthy are the edible dishes made of wheat bran, which are produced by the Polish brand Biotrem!
4. Eco mugs #yourcups
Every year billions of disposable cups are consumed around the world. That's why more and more owners of the catering industry, decide to introduce eco-friendly solutions to their establishments. They often join the "with your own cup" campaign organized by the Polish Zero Waste Association or offer eco-friendly replacements for harmful plastic. Examples include eco-friendly disposable cups, made from cornmeal, recycled paper and cellulose paper. No plastics were used in their production! The choice in this regard is probably natural.... ;).
